About Us

Activities
We have a fun and diverse offering of activities and social events from which to choose.  Whether you are a man or woman looking for a day, night or weekend-only group, we've got something for you!

Book Group     Each month we choose a book to read and discuss (usually a Thursday morning) 9:30 am for coffee and conversation, book discussion at 10:00 am.  See the newsletter for the book chosen and specific date of discussion.

Bunko     Bunko is a game of chance - roll the dice (three to be exact) and let the fun begin. Actually...the Bunko night begins with delicious snacks and great conversation (which lasts throughout the evening). Then we play the game—don't worry about the rules...the game is easy to learn. You'll be a pro after one evening! You don't need a partner or any experience—just come and have fun! Bunko is held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at a different host home; roll-off at 7:30pm. Bring $5 for snacks and $5 for prize money.

Community Connections     Check out our Resource File with info about local suppliers (plumbers, doctors, painters, decorators, contractors and many other services). The "Sunshine Sisters" group consists of volunteers who help out fellow Westonites in time of need. If you have an emergency, we're here to help. If you know of a WNNC member who has had a stressor such as a hospital stay, illness or even a new baby, and it seems that they could benefit from some home cooked dinners, then please contact Gail Compton-Flynn. We're also looking for volunteers to prepare those home cooked meals.  Please let us know!

Dining In
Dining In is a great way to meet old friends and make new ones while dining on some great recipes selected by committee for that evening's theme. We hold three events each year at different volunteer homes in Weston with a different cuisine each time. This is an organized potluck dinner where each couple brings a dish and everyone brings their own beverage. You need to keep track of your expenses for ingredients and we then average out the cost between participants to ensure that everyone contributes the same amount. Also, a small fee is charged at each dinner to cover the cost of eating utensils, glass rentals, etc.

Game Night
This evening will be casual and we will play an organized game at the host home. Game Night is meant to be different from other evening WNNC events. A totally casual evening—jeans will be the norm. There will be a different host house for each meeting, with each attendee agreeing to host. Food will be selected by the host—inexpensive and or the delivery variety (pizza, take out, chinese), split between all those attending. Some possible game ideas would be: Trivial Pursuit, Pictionary, Truth or Dare, Card Games, Cranium and Charades. Please see the newsletter for dates and contact information.
Position is open.

Chick Flicks
If you enjoy movies and a fun evening out, consider joining Flick Chicks. We meet the 3rd Tuesday of the month to enjoy the camaraderie of friends and view the latest action, drama, romance or comedy film to hit the silver screen. Flick Chicks often extends the evening with post-theatre dessert and coffee. We also intend to host an Oscar Night Party.

Lunch Bunch
Lunch Bunch meets once a month (usually a Friday) to try out new restaurants (as well as return to reliable favorites) in our local Fairfield area. We sample wonderful restaurants in Weston, Westport, Wilton, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield and other neighboring towns. Join us for a different treat every month.

Playgroups
Playgroups are a great way for parents, guardians, and kids to make some new friends and get involved in the community. Each group meets once a week and alternates between participants' homes. In addition, child friendly destinations are periodically scheduled, as well as weekend events, to give both parents a chance to get involved.

Poker Night  Members will rotate hosting duties.  The goal will be to play once a month hosted at a different house each time.  WNNC will supply poker chips, cards and a portable felt top.  Host just supplies a couple of bowls of snacks.  If you're a member and can play, you are welcome.  No spectators, no ringers!  BYOB

Senior Lunch
Senior Citizen Lunches are sponsored by the Weston Senior Center and take place at Norfield Church every Wednesday from September through May. Various local organizations cook and serve lunch on their designated week. WNNC typically serves the 4th Wednesday of the month. We are always looking for additional eager smiling faces and hands. You can cook a predetermined dish (we supply the easy, fail-proof recipes), serve lunch to the seniors, or both.  It is a great way to meet other people interested in giving "a little" back to our community while having a great time.
