WNNC BOARD MEMBER DESCRIPTIONS
EXECUTIVE BOARD
President: The president is in charge of the direction of the club’s affairs. She presides at all board and general meetings, performing the usual duties incident to her office.
1st VP: Membership/Database: Responsible for meeting, greeting and contacting potential members and acquainting them with the club’s activities. Traditionally organizes a September Saturday evening “Welcome to Weston” party and a February coffee. Keeps a database of all members, compiles a prospect list from town hall property transfers and provides labels for monthly newsletter. Updates information for annual directory printed each fall.
2nd VP: Activities: Helps set up and coordinates activity chairpersons, resolves scheduling conflicts that may arise, etc.
3rd VP: Social: Organizes at least three club wide social events per year.
Treasurer: Has custody of the club funds and is responsible for keeping full and accurate accounts of receipts and disbursements. Manages the bank account and tax returns. Assists with formulating and controlling the budget.
Secretary: Records and distributes the minutes of the board meetings and the general meetings, if necessary.
COMMITTEE CHAIRPERSON BOARD POSITIONS
Newsletter/Webmaster: Gathers newsletter articles, edit them into newsletter format, coordinates printing with printer and database. Updates and modifies the club website each month, to include activities and special events. Produces annual directory with assistance from Membership/Database chairperson.
Community Connections: Coordinates volunteers and fosters social network through mentorship programs, general outreach as needed, and dissemination of community based information. Maintains the resource file by soliciting and updating contractor and vendor recommendations provided by members.
Publicity: Publishes articles about Club’s activities and accomplishments in local newspapers and magazines.
Advertising/Fundraising: Responsible for getting advertising for newsletter and directory.
